I bought this back in 2016 simply because I like the old Russian style weapons. I asked for a downgraded M90 spring to be installed so it would pass chrono. First I'll cover the pros then cover the cons but you can see I gave it five.. grenades? So overall I'm pretty chuffed. 1. Nice steel and wood construction, it feels solid and it feels real (I guess?). It's as spot on as you could expect for a RIF. I even met a guy who was in the Bulgarian army in the past and trained with PPSHs and he attested to how real it looks and feels. 2. The internals seem solid too. It shoots consistently at about 300fps and a good range and good accuracy. I was complimented on my modding of it because I was out ranging the snipers (I hadn't done anything to it... ) 3. The electric blow back is really nice. It gives a little bit of a kick and sounds good. Almost feels like it's working unlike some other RIFs which just fart BBs. 4. The 2000 round drum mag feeds well if you keep it wound and is just a whole bag of lolfun. Get this gun, load up that drum, pop a bottle of water in your pocket and you're good to go all day with no extra baggage. The cons: 1. The finish on the wood is terrible. It looks more fake than fake wood and whilst it is real wood (as opposed ply or press) it is still pretty thin and pap in places. In the end I just had to sand it back and re-stain it. 2. Whilst it feels like a solid construction and feels good in your hands, I did end up having the glue the wood stock back on to the steel because it was a bit loose and creaking. The slider for holding the bold back which is the safety on this gun has also snapped, so now it has no safety catch and it actually did go off once even though the safety was engaged so be careful of this! and 3, the manufacturers went through the hassle of indenting a star and '1944' in to the steel, but then printed CHINA on the side in big white modern looking letters. All in all I'm endlessly happy with this gun and my only realistic gripe was that big ugly CHINA stamp which could only be solved by sanding it right off.

S&T have seriously impressed me with this- Wood and steel built, so feels absolutely rock solid. On the field, it has a very distinctive sound, much like the G&G RK-47 blowback. The blowback is a nice touch to the over-all realism, also gives a small kick which is nice. The battery compartment is very small, so can only hold a mini / stick type battery, that's it, which you'd think the large stock would be able to hold a large battery. The hop up unit on my model uses a PDI w-hold style bucking, with little ridges on each side to hold the BB in place, very nice to see compared to other guns around the same price only using standard bucking / nub combinations. My only complaint about this gun is the finish of the wood.

Wonderful, heavy, great looking SMG. Unusual, but very satisfying. Everyone asks about it it and smiles broadly when they get to have a go. EBB is robust and worth having as the noise and vibration is not tinny, and keeps everyone's heads down. Reviews I have read say it will also still be going after a few years of heavy use. Steel barrel surround and magazine can be stripped and blued for an even more realistic look. Selection switch feels a bit loose but upon investigation it is fine, just a wobbly design. As standard I am getting 60m range at 10rps, 350fps on a 7.4v lipo. I am going to upgrade the hop rubber as requires a few shots at the start of the day before it warms up and reaches its normal range, and even then on full auto I am getting a few BBs drop short out of the stream, and I feel this will help.

I ordered two of these. I had one modded by ZeroOne with high-speed motor and gears, piston and piston-head and a mosfet. I asked for around 350fps with hop-up around 50% on. What I got was 330fps with zero hop-up, making the gun pretty much useless for skirmishing. The other one is stock and does 350fps with zero hop-up. Here's where the mystery begins. I stuck a Systema M120 spring in mine, thinking that would bring it up to par. It dropped the fps to around 230. Wth! Put a G&G Green Bucking in, no joy. I rang the ZeroOne guys and they said possibly because the gearbox is long it might not be compressing the spring enough and to try a spacer. I put a 15mm spacer in, no difference. S&T make a big deal about the quick-change spring system...yeah, for what spring? Their stock spring is totally not like any regular AEG spring I've ever seen, it's about 3cm shorter and very thick-wired. I'm guessing it might be some kind of linear M150+ monster. Very poorly finished too. To conclude: if all you want is the gun as it comes in the box (aka my son's one) it'll probably be fine, but if you want mods to increase power/rof/reliabilty I'd have to say steer clear as they appear to rob power (as is the case with mine). I'm not impressed with what cost me £466. Oh, and it drains a 9.6v NiMh in one and a half mags of ammo (at approx. 1700 fill per mag).
