On the whole, a very nice piece. The wood doesn't necessarily hold up to the test of time and dents have already appeared. The finish on the wood is only light and to those with the time and patience, I would recommend restaining it. It will take a bayonet (RS or replica); ideal for reenactment displays. It performs admirably on the field and is very skirmishable.
Do note, there is some wobble in the upper wood panels; on those nearest the faux-chamber. I have not fixed this yet, but it doesn't bother me too much...
One word of caution, it is not light. If you're a weed, you might want to visit a gym first. Definitely get a leather Springfield 1903 sling for it. Magazines don't fit in a standard Garand ammo belt, but do fit in airborne riggers' pouches and, with some manouvering, a fabric bandolier. PERFECT FOR ANYONE TAKING THE NEXT STEP IN WW2 AIRSOFT! Having bought one when they first came out and loved it, I had high hopes when I bought a second to replace the one that had finally kicked the bucket. However when the new gun arrived the wood had a very poor finish, which could be easily fixed by my old wood kit. However, having connected the battery, the gun didn't fire after 5 shots, upon inspection the trigger contact wire had come out of its solder, exactly the same fault as the previous m1 I had. Very poor show from g&g! |

Looks and feels great.
Very snappy & short trigger pull.
Weighty, in a good way.
The top rear hand guard was very loose. Had to shim in out.
Recommend converting to Deans and using 7.4 lipos to fit in the stock. Not as much room as it looks.
Must get the mag perfect or it will not fit. Bad if rushing under pressure.
Mags hold 20rnds but only feed 15/16. the other 4/5 just fall out when you eject the mag.
Says 325fps... mines shooting 295fps on .2g, consistently.
Worried about taking it for skirmish. |
