Quite possibly one of the nicest and most realistic airsoft guns I've had the pleasure of purchasing, the G&G MG42 is on par with Shoei quality in terms of it's build and ruggedness, I won't have any worries just throwinf this about and treating it like the real thing. Solid CNC gearbox and full steel externals (except an alloy outer barrel) makes it a heavy beast to contend with however to make life easier a split sling should be used.
For all it's pluses though there are a few niggles that let it down marginally (this may be nitpicking but feel worth mentioning):
- Battery compatibility or more accurately lack of, you will struggle to get any high capacity lipo into the battery area without modification to the stock and "buffer tube" piece. Luckily I have access to the tooling required (milling machine) and made a custom hollowing to house a 5000mah Hyperion Lipo pack; otherwise you will be stuck with the G&G 1100mah lipo that can be purchased separately (note it is not included with set, however the lipo for the drum is).
- Stamps and trades not correct as per the real deal, a very tiny niggle and one that can be corrected with filler and custom work but would have been better to have had them correct at the price tag.
Overall from the materials used you can appreciate why it commands this price tag and if you buy it you won't regret it. Fantastic help and service from Rich and the Z1 team on putting this on backorder in addition to getting it out for next day delivery.

This is one of the most beautiful airsoft guns on the market. The price is high but it is worth every penny, with its all steel constuction this beast is no light weight and the attention to detail really makes this gun a true master peace. I haven't had chance to take it on the battle field yet so not sure on how it will act but I'm sure it will do well.

Aye carumba. If the price doesn't make your brain bleed the quality will. I watched a shed-load of videos and pored over reviews and photographs before buying this and none of them did it the justice actually holding it in my hands does. This beast is phenomenal. What kind of crazy would drive anyone to put this level of engineering excellence into a BB gun? It smacks of some kind of obsession. But I'm so glad they did. It's BB porn.
The guys at Zero One did a sterling job of preparing it and getting it out on the same day. From talking to them at 9am Monday morning and them preparing it, they had it out at 4pm and I got it today at 3pm. Top notch job guys, thank you. :)
