My first review seems to have got lost. Never mind. Year and a half on and the Socom is still working as well as the day I got it. Nothing has broken, nothing has fallen off. Its been thrown around, dropped and pretty much abused in the field but it still keeps working. Superb rifle. Easy to drag through the bushes and so far, not one misfeed or lockup. The hop up is easy to adjust on the fly(located just in front of the magazine) and is a decent shooter. Quite a heavy lump though if you are used to an M4.

This is a superb airsoft rifle! The plastic stock is well crafted and has a nice feel to it. Altogether, the Cyma Socom is a sturdy bit of kit which is likely to stand up to a bit of abuse. Internally, the gearbox has metal shims and gears and is again well made and set up.THe piston and head are plastic and the stock spring will give around 340 fps with .2 bb's. This rifle is easily upgradable though be warned, the M14 version 7 gearbox is a bit of a pig to work on. Decent metal piston and piston head, M120 spring and tightbore barrel plus a few other bits, came to under £70 so it doesn't cost the earth to upgrade. The result is 400fps plus so now single shot only(which is easy to do) and pretty damn accurate, easy 2p grouping at ten metres. The stock moter is happy enough to pull the 120 spring and rate of fire is not an issue. The Cyma may well be a TM clone but its well thought out, well built and makes a really good DMR. Treat yourself! you won't regret it!

Out of the box the cyma m14 socom fired at 328 fps.
I got to use it at a game and once I had set the hop to nearly off the bb's were firing lovely and strait.
The trigger action is very responsive with a large battery pack squeezed in.
The gun itself dose not come with a battery or charger and has a small tamya connector and and plenty of space for a small pack.
I used an adapter to change it to large tamya so I could fit a large pack in the stock (which is very tight).
The overall feel of the gun is very sturdy and heavy. It has a rough texture unlike the TM's rubberised feel.
I quite like the rough feel of the body as it makes it look a bit more modern.
If you want to put a bi-pod on it is worth getting the TM adapter for the harris style bi-pod. Otherwise there is a kit allowing you to replace the front sling mount with a rail.
I'm very happy with the gun and it was worth every penny.
The only bad thing is the bolt feels a bit weak compared to TM or G&G but you don't need to use it anyway as the hop is by the mag and easy to get to
