Despite being the first ever AEG you rarely see these about any more and when I take mine to a game it is a real head turner. This is a very versatile gun. I use mine for woodland and CQB. Due to it's bullpup configuration it has a long enough barrel to have the range for woodland but is compact enought to easily navigate around door frames in CQB. This gun is a real work horse of a AEG. Mine has seen some wear and tear and is still going strong. I suggest leaving it as factory default as opposed to opening it up to tinker with it as you can never seem to replicate the magic of the Tokyo Marui factory when put it back together. To be honest this gun really does not need tinkering with as it has a brilliant Tokyo Marui hop up, durable gearbox and comes out of the box with a site legal FPS. If you must upgrade it I recommend leaving it at putting in a tighter barrel.
My only criticism is the severe lack of accessories. It took me a long time to track down a carry handle RIS so I could put an aimpoint on the top. I still can't track down the silencer adaptor for the FAMAS as no where seems to stock them any more.
If you want a reliable reasonably priced AEG and are not bothered about upgrading or tinkering with it, then I highly recommend the Tokyo Marui FAMAS. It was the second AEG I ever bought and I still frequently use mine and it is still going strong since the day I bought it.

Got this AEG as a joint christmas and birthday present, what can i say it is an absolutely great weopon for a beginner like myself. Although it has a low FPS, it chronos at around 275 FPS, it as a great range due to the Marui hop up. I have hit targets at 160 feet away with the hop up tuned well. All in all i would recommend this gun to any beginner due to its good price and performance.
Will be buying Marui agian!
