When the throw lever is released allowing the striker to hit the CO2 capsule, pressure starts to build into the outer shell. When the specialist plastic reaches a certain pressure it splits with a resounding boom - at DB levels close to the real thing. A grenade comparable to the blank alternative, but one which is completely safe to use anywhere at all.

Perfect little grenade, brilliant and cost effective as only £2.00 on average per grenade (50p Co2 & £1.50 for shell). Only problem I've ever had for these grenades is that sometimes they don't go off with a 'bang', they simply hiss the Co2 away. If this is the case, tighten the shell up more! If still hissing, an easy fix is using some PTFE tape from your local plumbers/B&Q, etc.

I've had loads of fun with this. Bought along with a load of the trip wire and pineapple shells. Only reason it's getting four stars is the black sound flash shell just failed to work at all, tried it three times. The pineapple ones are good but have a habit of rupturing around the top making them hard to unscrew, easily solved by weakening the shell elsewhere with a knife. Once I'd worked out how to arm them it's easy enough to set these. I wouldn't mind buying another of the cores if they were sold separately.

Yeah the make a big bang, and there easy to use, the pineapples take a while to go off so give um and extra score and that should help. bit nicer to use than piros and must more realistic too, but dont hold it or it will hurt if it goes off, pin out hammer down and lob, or set up trips with um fun indeed. VALUE FOR MONEY

This is an old product. This was there years ago. If you use it properly, it will be "usable" for years. A few things to understand. This is a dangerous product. It does contains compress air. Do not grab it once the hammer has impact the canister ! Do not put powder in it, because when it does sur-pressure (in order to explode), the powder becomes a millions of mini missiles ! If the other players wear a mesh mask, that is it. His skin will burn due to the pressure. Otherwise ? Great stuff ! My favourite so far. It does burn hot. It doesn't involve any particular skill. Don't throw it, lob it. Make sure all it thigh. Do not over do it, excuse my "French" but you will shag it. I do purchase it when I see them in stock. A sturdy product. The delay is to compared with the volume of the shell. The black one (sound) take longer to explode than the pineapple. Enjoy.

Excellent product - nice and loud, easy to use, looks vaguely realistic and reasonably reliable as long as you make sure they are tight. Best gas grenade I have found yet!

I like these so much i already have two, just need to make sure everything is tightened up before thrown or they will just hiss instead of going bang as the gas escapes, but the reason for only four stars is just the downer of carrying spare shells.
